Cancer, heart disease, and stroke are among the leading causes of illness in Australia. Early insight into your health can give you the knowledge you need to take a more proactive approach to your wellbeing.
Many Australians will be affected by cancer, heart disease, or stroke, either personally or through family and friends.
A standard physical examination by a doctor can only provide limited information about your health. Advanced screening looks deeper, helping uncover health issues even before any symptoms appear. We offer these comprehensive assessments at both our Sydney and Melbourne clinics, and they can be completed in one day.

Book an appointment
Call our friendly team on 1300 03 1300 or complete our online form to book your assessment. We’ll send you a questionnaire to complete prior to your visit so we can gather your details.
01
Visit one of our clinics in Melbourne, Sydney or across Australia
On your first trip to our clinic, you’ll be welcomed by our reception team and introduced to our doctors. Our welcome is all about making sure you feel comfortable and supported, and we’re here to guide you through the experience.
02
Doctor consultation
If this is your first visit to our clinic, your doctor will undertake your detailed medical history, including your family history. From there, they will formulate an individualised health assessment program based on your specific risk factors.
03
Biomarker testing
Next, you’ll be taken for an ECG, blood tests, and urine tests. Optional genetic testing to assess hereditary cancer risk is also available as an add-on and is completed using a saliva swab.
04
MRI Assessment
After this, our team will gently guide you through your MRI assessment. The scan is non-invasive, radiation-free, and designed to be as comfortable as possible. During the scan, you can relax by listening to music or watching a TV show or movie.
The MRI takes around one hour, and supports early screening for a range of conditions. These include common cancers such as ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, liver, lung, brain, and thyroid cancers, as well as brain aneurysms and cardiovascular conditions.
05
Stroke Risk Assessment
To support a complete picture of your health, a carotid ultrasound will be performed to assess your risk of stroke. This painless, non-invasive test checks blood flow in the arteries in your neck using ultrasound imaging.
06
Cardiac CT Assessment
You may undergo a cardiac CT to evaluate your risk of heart disease. This typically includes a CT calcium score, used to measure arterial calcification, which provides insights into the health of your arteries.
Cardiac CT is not required for everyone and is only offered when appropriate. Factors such as age, family history, and lifestyle may contribute to whether this test is recommended.
07
Body composition review (optional)
This examination uses electrical bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to provide a radiation-free analysis of your body composition. This optional extra shows detailed information about your muscle mass, body fat distribution, and visceral fat levels.
08
Bowel, stomach and oesophageal cancer screening (optional)
Based on your individual risk factors, your doctor may also talk with you about a bowel cancer screening. This typically involves a colonoscopy, a gastroscopy, or both, depending on what’s deemed appropriate.
09
Follow-up visit
Two weeks later, you’ll have a follow-up appointment with your doctor. For your convenience, you can choose if you’d like to return to the clinic or have the appointment via telehealth.
This is a dedicated time to go through your results in detail, ask any questions, and understand the recommended next steps. You’ll also receive a written summary of your results, which can be shared with your GP to ensure continuity of care.

We all know prevention is the best cure, so spend one day of your life ensuring you have the information you need to take control of your health.
We offer a focused approach at both our Melbourne and Sydney clinics. Through our full body health check, we identify medical conditions that could affect your life expectancy before symptoms appear, giving you vital information now.

Whether you have a family history, have noticed changes in your health, or simply want reassurance, a comprehensive health check can provide clarity and peace of mind.

FAQs
What is a full-body health check?
At HealthScreen, a full body check involves consulting with a doctor, then receiving a number of advanced assessments.
This includes MRIs, ultrasounds, blood tests, CT scans, and more, depending on your unique risk profile. The aim is to give you a full understanding of your health and the next steps to support your long and healthy life.
We offer these comprehensive assessments at both our Sydney and Melbourne clinics, and they can be completed in one day.
Is a full-body MRI safe?
MRI is actually considered one of the safest imaging assessments available. Unlike X-rays or CT scans, MRI does not use ionising radiation. Instead, it uses strong magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the body. This allows doctors to gain deep medical insight in a non-invasive, safe way.
Can you send my results to a GP?
Once we have all your results, you can either come to the clinic or join via telehealth for your follow-up appointment. From there, we discuss all our findings, next steps, and give you your full health report. You’ll always have a copy of your report, and we can send it to your GP with your permission.
If you’ve previously had an appointment with us and would like your notes sent to a new GP or specialist, contact our team, and we will be happy to help.
Where are your clinics located?
We have clinics in both Sydney and Melbourne. Here is where you can find us:
- Melbourne: Hampton Day Hospital, 336-338 South Rd, Hampton East VIC 3188.
